How do you access the Internet?
Internet access is organised in different ways in our residential complexes: Either it is made available to tenants free of charge or it is provided via a low monthly flat rate (currently 5 euros). Registration and use
To be able to use the network in one of the respective residential complexes, please read the terms of use and, if applicable, the fee schedule (see download area on this page) carefully beforehand. The registration form will be sent to you by e-mail together with your tenancy agreement. Alternatively, you can also download it from this page. Please fill it out completely and send it to netzwerke.wohnen(at)sw-ol.de or hand it in at our Student Housing Department.
Once the application has been received, it will be processed quickly and you will receive your access data within a few days. If you have not received them after 14 days, please contact us at netzwerke.wohnen(at)sw-ol.de.
We have summarised instructions for setting up network access on your PC together with all other important documents in the download area on this page.
Operation of network components
Please ensure that you do not use any network components that could interfere with other network users. In particular, this includes your own routers and servers that offer their own network services such as DNS, WINS, DHCP servers, streaming, file sharing etc. in the network of the residential complex. Such services can significantly impair connectivity! The same applies to various network tools, sniffer, monitor and spyware programmes, which are also not permitted. We would like to emphasise once again that exclusion may occur at any time, particularly in the event of non-compliance with the terms of use or malfunction.
Suggestions, problem solutions, support and help
As computer technologies are constantly evolving, programmes are constantly being changed and some things simply break, it is in the nature of networks that something does not work from time to time. We are constantly endeavouring to keep the system operational and available. But we also need your help here. Don't be afraid to ask us for help: The best way to reach us is at netzwerke.wohnen(at)sw-ol.de. Alternatively, you can also use the online damage report form.
