"AND ACTION!" - The finished film in just 57 hours
Spontan getan 2025
Turn, cut, pass - win? What sounds quite simple at first turns out to be quite a tricky task at second glance. At "Spontan getan!", the fastest film competition in the north-west - organised by the University of Oldenburg, the Studierendenwerk Oldenburg, the Unikino Gegenlicht, the AStA of the University of Oldenburg and the zwergWERK - one thing is certain: spontaneity.
Anyone who wants to take part and win should be prepared for an adrenalin-fuelled weekend. After the starting signal on Friday afternoon, there is not much time to turn your film idea into reality. The finished film has to be in the can by the following Sunday night.
Art from the vending machine
A project group at the University of Oldenburg's Institute of Material Culture has set itself the task of turning an old cigarette vending machine into an art vending machine for selling patches. In future, you will be able to buy patches to repair or embellish textiles from the vending machine. Great idea, isn't it? The patches were all individually made by the students and you can buy them for a few euros from January 2024 in the StudiLounge on the Haarentor campus.
A little tip for all creative designers: The iron-on patches can even be washed in the washing machine at 30°C. For extra durability, simply avoid the tumble dryer and turn the fabric inside out when washing.
Let's get loud
In summer 2024, we called on student bands to present their pieces on a large stage. In cooperation with the AStA of the University of Oldenburg and the Kulturetage Oldenburg, we launched the "Kultursommer Bandcontest 2024".
Student bands had until 19 April 2024 to register for the competition. In order to get a good overview of the bands, all music acts had to send their video to the AStA of the University of Odlenburg. The participants could upload the video to an existing YouTube channel.
The final decision on the winners was made by the students in a vote via Stud.IP. Students were able to cast exactly one vote in a given period of time and thus bring their favourite band a little closer to the stage!
All bands with a connection to the university can take part. Solo artists can also take part in the competition. It was and is important that only bands and artists with original compositions (or those who cover the work of others in a completely different artistic guise) can perform at the Kultursommer. The playing time per support act was approximately 30 minutes.
