Our workshop programme for the winter semester 2025/26

We have developed a range of services under the title "Start-up support" to help you complete your studies as confidently and with as little stress as possible. We are convinced that the more you manage to maintain your curiosity and thirst for discovery and give yourself room for personal development, the more you will benefit from your studies. That's why we want to teach you various strategies in lectures and workshops that have proven to be extremely helpful for a successful degree programme. The area of personal development is also taken into account.

Discover the images within you (from 14.10.)

In this workshop, we will use guided imagination exercises to create access to unconscious images and ideas. Following the imagination exercises, there will be time to creatively design the inner images using colours, collage, clay or natural materials. These inner images have an emotional and action-guiding power and help us to develop goals and visions. In this way, we can develop a broader perspective on our everyday life, our life and our own future.
No previous artistic knowledge is required, just an open mind, a desire for creativity and the curiosity to encounter yourself!

Too much in the head, into the body! There's something under your head too! (from 21.10.)

Full to-do lists - everything has to fit into a 24-hour day. This creates pressure, stress and overload! Physical well-being, relaxation and the ability to be aware of yourself fall by the wayside. In this series of workshops, you will learn various exercises from the fields of yoga, breathing techniques, body scans and active meditation that will bring body and mind closer together again so that you can face the demands of your studies in a relaxed manner.

Strengthen your self-esteem! Now! (from 22.10. or from 28.10.)

Healthy self-esteem is the basis for our actions and behaviour and is therefore crucial for our mental and physical health, for relationships and ultimately, of course, for healthy studying.

We want to work on the topic of self-esteem in a fixed group over the winter semester.
Topics such as body language, communication, self-confidence and inner critics will be covered as well as exercises in which you will get to know yourself better and your self-esteem will grow.

Meditation course online (23.10.)

By taking part in this course, you will create a regular period in which you can familiarise yourself with and practise various meditations. You can gradually learn to be more mindful of yourself, your body, your feelings and your thoughts. With regular practice, the skills practised and acquired in meditation permeate our attitude to life, as participants who took part in this course for a longer period during their studies tell us. The sessions take place online on Thursdays from 9:00 - 10:00 am, so that group members living further away or working in internships do not have to interrupt their practice. I recommend attending a preparatory meeting before joining the course.

Resilient despite crises (24.10.)

We live in uncertain times: wars, climate catastrophe, political shift etc. - it is becoming increasingly difficult for us to live calmly and carefree. This workshop will focus on how we can remain mentally healthy and capable of functioning despite difficult circumstances. We will address the topics of strengths, resources, stress and uncertainty. Tools for dealing with stress and more will be taught and small group exercises will be conducted. The goal is to learn various tools for developing lasting resilience. There are also plans to follow up with a self-help group that meets regularly (in cooperation with Student Health Management & BEKOS).

Psychomental self-care training (from 24 October)

Have you had anything to eat or drink today? Brushed your teeth? Or washed your hands? It probably wasn't too long ago. But when was the last time you took time to "clean your soul" - in other words, to strengthen and nurture your psyche? With the many challenges and stresses of everyday life, it's worth investing time and energy in your health and practising self-care. In this training course, you will learn about various ways to take action for your mental health and cultivate individually harmonised self-care step by step.
In the introductory section, you will learn how to utilise your psychomental potential more and more and how to (re)connect with your own resources and sources of strength through professional input, exercises and techniques. To deepen and support the concrete implementation of your own self-care training, there will be two follow-up sessions.

Tapping acupressure (from 09.11.)

Self-help not only for exam anxiety
Tapping acupressure is a method of energetic psychology that has a self-soothing effect by stimulating certain acupuncture points. Anxiety and stress lead to an excessive release of adrenalin, which is extremely counterproductive in exam and learning situations. With tapping acupressure, you will learn a self-help method that offers a way to avoid being so overwhelmed by emotions and their hormone release that concentration is no longer possible.

Dealing with stress and anxiety (21.11.)

Are you frequently feeling stressed or anxious? Do you struggle to focus in certain situations or feel overwhelmed? You are not alone! In this workshop, we will work together to discover and practice various effective techniques to manage stress and anxiety.

After that everything was different - living with a stressful diagnosis (from 28 November)

When you or someone close to you has to deal with a stressful physical or mental diagnosis, life is turned upside down. Friends and family are often helpless, and those affected often feel insecure and lonely. In two binding and consecutive sessions, there is space to share your personal situation. Together we will develop individual coping strategies. This workshop is explicitly aimed at those affected as well as close family and friends.

How do I get through Christmas? Mentally healthy through the holidays (17.12.)

For many people, Christmas is not just a celebration of love, but is also associated with pressure, the need for harmony, stress and negative feelings. Some others miss their loved ones especially during this time and feel lonely. The aim of this workshop is to strengthen yourself mentally so that you can experience the festive season in a more relaxed way and get through it well with or without family and friends. Together we will develop strategies to consciously face the Christmas ritual.

Mindful into the new year (from 08.01.)

Mindfulness has become a hot topic these days. Everyone should practise it, live it, you read it everywhere. But what's really behind this topic? Find out for yourself: We want to practise the basics together (e.g. MBSR - Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) and, in the best case scenario, experience stress management. We will practise mindful physical exercises and gentle yoga exercises. The focus of the course is on familiarising ourselves with the techniques through practice, rather than theory.
Comfortable clothing recommended. Cushions and mats are provided by PBS.

The future begins now (from 30.01.)

Are you nearing the end of your studies? Maybe change your subject? Do a Master's degree after the Bachelor's? Where/how do I want to live? What happens next?
When something we know ends and nothing new has yet taken its place, we often feel restless and uncertain. In this two-part workshop, you will have the opportunity to explore your ideas and wishes for the future. Together with others and with the help of various methods/exercises, you can approach your future constructively, create more clarity and express your visions. If you are interested in a little self-awareness in a small group (10 participants), please register.
